You, Your Shots are on Fire

Let’s just face it. Fire is awesome. Whether building a camp fire to roast mallows, lighting up the fire place for a romantic night with your lady, or just igniting random objects in your backyard, men have always been enthralled by the orange and blue flame. This most likely explains our obsession with fire trucks when we are kids.

Another favorite pastime for men is drinking. Alcohol doesn’t just give you the confidence to talk to hotties in the bar, it is also probably the best activity enhancer known to man. When combined correctly, alcohol and fire can make for an awesome time. I even made up this simple equation to show you how it works; Alcohol + Fire = Awesomeness. It’s science, and we don’t mess with science. But how do you combine these two variables into a night of debauchery? Two words. FLAMING SHOTS!

Here are a few shots that are sure to make you all warm inside:

FLAMING DR. PEPPER: 3/4 shot of amaretto, 1/4 Bacardi 151, 2/3 Mug of Beer.
Fill shot glass 3/4 full with amaretto and top it off with 151 proof rum. Pour beer mug 2/3 full. Ignite the amaretto/151 shot and drop into beer glass. Proceed to chug.

It tastes just like regular Dr. Pepper. This shot truly is incredible because it really does taste like the drink it’s named after. Plus you can still enjoy the taste without looking like a fairy drinking out of candy cane colored can.

FLAMING ORGASM: 12 oz. Beer, 1 1/2 oz. 151.
Pour rum into a shot glass and fill a mug 2/3 full with beer. Light the shot and drop it into said mug. Wait for the flame to go out and pound it.

This shot most likely wont have you humping barstools, but dropping burning alcohol into more alcohol will definitely increase your badassitude a few points. Hey, it may even convince some chick watching to give you a flaming orgasm…and I’m not talking about the kind that comes back to haunt you in 3 weeks.

B-52: 1/3 Kahlua, 1/3 Bailey’s Irish Cream, 1/3 Grand Marnier Orange Liquor, Straw.
Pour Kahlua into shot glass, then layer the Irish Cream on top, followed by layering the Grand Marnier over the Irish Cream. Ignite the shot and drink with straw.

I’m not sure where the name for this shot originated from, but lucky for everyone, you are not required to sing love shack when taking it. Even though you are risking your life with this drink, there is a 5 point deduction in man points if you are heard singing any B-52’s song. (Note: If a dude calls you out, he to will lose 3 man points for knowing a B-52’s song) There are a few versions of this shot going around, most notably one which includes absinthe (delicious).

FLAMING GORILLA TITTIES: 1/2 shot Bacardi 151, 1/2 shot coffee liqueur, straw.
Pour 1/2 shot glass full of coffee liqueur and fill the rest with 151. Light the shot glass and drink with straw while shot is still on fire.

I added this shot mostly because of the name. But in all seriousness this drink tastes just like chocolate milk and is a lot of fun. Indulge in a few of these and you’ll forget all about torched ape nipples. Or you may find your hairy friend and decide to have some fun. *WARNING* Your friends hairy nipples probably wont taste like chocolate milk.

APPLE PIE: 1/2 oz. Goldschlager, 1/2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream, Splash Bacardi 151, 2 pinches Cinnamon.
Pour 1/2 oz. Goldschlager and Bailey’s into shot glass and then top off with 151. Light the shot and while lite, add cinnamon for dramatic sparkle effect (very cool by the way). Blow out flame if needed and take the shot.

Instead of stumbling into Denny’s at 3 in the morning, order a round of these. Think about it, do you really want to end your night flinging sugar packets across a table while Flo gets cigarette ash all over your apple pie whipped cream smiley face?

Taking a flaming shot is like Evil Knievel jumping 15 buses on a motorcycle. If done successfully your alpha man status will rise significantly. If you fail your alpha man status will still rise because you were the guy taking flaming shots. They are a great way to stir up conversations at a bar or party and definitely add that sexy kind of danger attribute that the ladies adore.
